Make-Ahead Breakfast Casserole - from Debbie B., Florida DebbBlanchard@comcast.net I prepare this and the following Grits Souffle recipe Christmas Eve and pop them in the oven Christmas morning so breakfast is ready when we are finished opening gifts. 1 lb sausage Cook sausage & drain. Grease a 9x13 dish and line the bottom with cubed bread. Top with sausage & cheese. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. |

Grits Cheese Souffle - Debbie B., Florida 2 TBSP butter or margarine In a 3 qt pan over medium-high heat, heat butter, salt, 1 1/2 c milk, and 2 cups water to boiling. Gradually stir in grits, beating constantly with a wire whisk to prevent lumping. Reduce heat to low. Cover and cook 5 min, stirring occasionally (grits will be very stiff). Remove pan from heat; blend in cheese. In a large bowl, with a wire whisk, mix hot pepper sauce, pepper, eggs and 2 cups milk until blended. Gradually stir grits mixture into egg mixture. Preheat oven to 325. Grease a shallow 2 1/2 qt casserole. Pour in grits mixture. Bake for 45 minutes uncovered, until knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Serves 12 as a main dish. Can make the day before and add 20 more minutes to baking time. |

ingredients together and pour over cheese. Bake at 350 for 50-60
minutes or until set and golden brown. |

came from someone on Connection. I loved it so
much that I introduced it to start a new family tradition.
Who would think you could be this organized so early in the a.m.! 20 frozen dough rolls Before you put the cat out and turn off the lights, grease a 10" bundt
pan and add frozen rolls. Sprinkle with brown sugar, pudding powder,
cinnamon and raisins. Pour melted butter over all. Cover with a clean,
damp cloth. Leave out at room temperature. Turn out the lights and say
goodnight! In the morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 25 minutes. Let
sit for 5 minutes and then turn out on a serving platter. Now, aren't
you clever? |
| Christmas Morning Wifesaver - from Nan L., British Columbia nelteach@mac.com From the Best of Bridge Series, a super easy night-before breakfast main dish. It's now a tradition at our house - served with fruit salad and a loaf of pannetone from our local Italian Bakery. 16 slices white bread, crusts removed In a 9x13 inch buttered glass baking dish, put 8 pieces of bread. Add pieces to cover dish entirely. Cover bread with thinly sliced bacon or ham. Top with slices of cheddar cheese. Cover with slices of bread. In a bowl, beat eggs and pepper. Add mustard, onion, green pepper, Worcestershire, milk and Tabasco. pour over bread, cover and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, melt butter and pour over top. Cover with crushed Special K or Cornflakes. Bake at 350 degrees uncovered, 1 hour. Let sit 10 minutes before serving. Serves 8. |
| Breakfast Pizza - from Stephanie C., Illinois slstinebaker@yahoo.com 1 lb. bulk sausage Brown sausage, crumble and drain. Separate rolls and spread
ito ungreased 12 inch pizza pan and seal edges to make a
crust. Spoon sausage over crust. Sprinkle with potatoes.
Top with cheese. Beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Pour
over crust. Sprinkle Parmesan chees over all. Bake at 375
degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into slices and serve.
Serves 6 to 8. |
